New Vieweg Training Center, Chemnitz Einsiedel

Since the family-run business Elektro Vieweg GmbH & Co. KG now has around 30 trainees of all ages completing their training, the “Stifthaus” was built in 2022. The training center is a place where trainees can practice and train at various laboratory workstations or workstations for circuit construction, as well as on model devices for fire alarm or photovoltaic systems, before heading out to construction sites. The building is also used for various teaching, training, and exam preparation purposes.

We planned a complete timber construction: all load-bearing components are made of solid wood, the ceiling is made of wooden box elements with fill, and the walls are timber frame construction with wooden cladding. On the roof (made of recycled aluminum) is a photovoltaic system, which is supplemented by a storage battery inside the training workshop. Heating and cooling sails on the ceilings are supplied with heat and cold by a geothermal system from a depth of 100 meters.
